Every time my son is invited to a birthday party I struggle to find a really good gift.  How many presents/toys does your child get that ends up untouched?  I thought maybe you'd like to share here some really great gifts/toys your child has received (would love 5 year old boy ideas but open to whatever) that made you think "wow, that's really neat!"

I have 2 boys, and they both LOVE getting cash or gift cards.  Then they can go and pick out what they want, and pay for it themselves.  Does this child like Chuck E Cheese?  You can get a gift card from there, or a bookstore giftcard.  Even a Toy's R Us giftcard is nice.

My son is 9 and yes, he is totally into cash/gift cards/i tunes cards! Even tho I still feel kinda funny giving the same stuff to his friends (even when he says, "that's totally what they want, Mom!") LOL! So I try to get creative with the "cash" - free bowling games, movie certificates, ect. But, when my son was 5, being such an outside kid, you couldn't go wrong with the bug vacuums, super soakers, water balloons, water slides! Also, I always ask the moms when I RSVP  if there is something their child is really into...my son went thru a "post-it note" phase and yes, many people repeated "Post-its???" to me (and they are not the cheapest office supply in the world) but he was THRILLED with his "post-it note" score at his party!
